As a dog owner, you would do anything for your pet. That said, wouldn’t it be nice not to have to clean up dog hair so frequently?
Dog hair has a way of getting onto everything, from your carpet, to your couch, to your clothing. Your dog’s shedding can cause a real headache, but it doesn’t need to.
Use these helpful tips to keep the dog hair in your home to a minimum.
Doggy Spa Day
By taking your dog to the groomers, especially between seasons when your dog sheds the most, you can stop a lot of dog hair from entering your home. At the groomers, while your dog is pampered & washed, they are also brushed well, removing loose fur. Doing this takes away a lot of the fur that would normally fall out while your dog runs around your house.
If you want to brush your dog at home but have trouble keeping them still, check out The Magic Deshedding Glove. The Magic Deshedding Glove by doglemi is a silicon glove for brushing your dog. It is perfect if your dog doesn’t like to be brushed.
Take A Look At Diet
Although shedding is a natural part of a dogs life, if your dog’s food does not contain enough nutrients, it can cause your dog to shed more.
Some dogs are also allergic to some foods such as corn, which can irritate a dogs coat and cause your dog to loose more hair.
Use The Right Cleaning Tools
When your dog does shed and leaves hair behind, make sure you use the right tools to clean up. Try to use a wet rubber glove to sweep up dog hair. The fur will naturally be attracted to the glove so you won’t need so many lint rollers.
Place a damp paper towel on a swifter stick to sweep floors. The paper towel is cheap so you don’t need to worry about expensive sheets, and the damp paper towel will act like a magnet picking up the fallen hair.
Don’t Discount Pet-Friendly Furniture
Carpets are a pet hair’s best friend. Hair get stuck in the fibres, and it is very difficult to clean. Use machine washable area rugs where needed, and have hardwood, tile, or laminate flooring in the areas your dog spends the most time in.
While material couches attract hair, couches made of leather, vinyl, or pleather do not allow dog hairs to get embedded in them.
Use these tips and be happy!
